The Ahmanson Foundation (Ahmanson) is a long-time supporter of Partners in Care Foundation—specifically IT. Over the years The Ahmanson Foundation has backed development of Partners in Care Foundation’s HomeMeds data system and program, which supports Partners’ National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) case management accreditation, healthcare contracting and management of the work of our Partners at Home Network.
In July 2018, Ahmanson awarded Partners in Care generous $100,000 grant for crucial IT security improvements. These are necessary for our growing collaborations with highly regulated and security conscious healthcare payers and providers. The Ahmanson Foundation funding will cover a permanent air conditioning to protect servers from overheating and losing data. The grant is also covering software to enable staff to monitor health and security of our network and servers, and a system to ensure safe file transfers with other agencies and healthcare providers. Also included is a device to monitor internet security and, where necessary, block inappropriate incoming and outgoing internet traffic. Finally, this grant supports security training and certification for Partners in Care IT department staff saving thousands of dollars in consulting fees and expenses.
