Partners in Care Foundation Secures $1.2 Million HUD Grant to Empower Older Adults in Los Angeles with Life-Changing Home Modifications

Last Updated March 31, 2025

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded Partners in Care Foundation a federal grant to help low-income older adults in Los Angeles stay in their homes through affordable, impactful home modifications. This funding is part of HUD’s Older Adult Home Modification Program (OAHMP), which supports organizations dedicated to enhancing the safety and functionality of homes for older adults.

With this grant, Partners in Care Foundation will provide essential home modifications to over 300 senior households in under-resourced communities throughout Los Angeles County. These modifications are designed to make homes safer and more accessible, allowing older adults to age in place with greater security and independence, rather than move to nursing homes or other assisted care communities.

As one of 15 organizations nationwide to receive this grant, Partners in Care Foundation will be able to make a significant difference in the lives of high needs older adults, ensuring they have the support they need to remain at home, surrounded by familiar surroundings and loved ones. The HUD’s Older Adult Home Modification Program (OAHMP) will be managed through Partners’ Community Wellness Program. If you know an older adult (age 62 or older) who is a homeowner or renter, LA County resident, and has a total household income at or below 80% of the Area Median Income, they may qualify for this program.
