Congratulations to Ricardo Rubio for receiving Employee of the Month for July!
Ricardo is a Community Health Advocate (CHA) working with our Blue Shield Pilot Program, Health Reimagined, and is approaching his one-year work anniversary with Partners. He is placed in Brown Toland medical group, a respected group in the Bay Area. He received his BA From UC Berkeley in Psychology and comes to Partners with extensive experience in social services. Upon taking on the role of CHA, Ricardo showed great skill in not only learning the scope of his work, but in building relationships with various community organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area. One example of this was a college student Ricardo received a referral for who was a cocaine user and was not connected to any harm reduction programs. Upon hearing this Ricardo, worked diligently to discover some help for her, especially as Fentanyl overdoses have been surging in the Bay Area. Ricardo visited the SF AIDs Foundation and discovered that they were offering free Fentanyl test strips to individuals as a measure of harm reduction. Ricardo was able to get a supply and have it mailed to the member discreetly. Ricardo also has a reputation with working very well and effectively with the clinics he is assigned to with Brown & Toland, and we have received much positive feedback from the providers and clinic staff on his focus and determination towards helping the people he comes across.
