National Social Work Month is honored each March to recognize the dedication and empathy social workers across the country deliver while providing services to children and adults in need.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), social work is one of the fastest growing professions in the United States. More than 700,000 professional social workers are hard at work nationwide. They are essential to the community as they provide support to individuals and their families and help improve outcomes in their lives by identifying challenges that may impede independent living.
Partners in Care Foundation currently has 65 Social Workers employed in our Network Services and Long-Term Services and Support (LTSS) Departments, which include the Multipurpose Senior Services Program (MSSP), Enhanced Care Management (ECM), Assisted Living Waiver (ALW), and Home and Community-Based Alternatives (HCBA) Waiver Program. We are grateful for the impactful work of our staff members in the field to meet the care needs of underserved and vulnerable populations.
Partners in Care Foundation also leads the Geriatric Social Work Education Consortium (GSWEC) of Southern California to expand the workforce of highly skilled geriatric social workers by developing “aging- rich” field internships in the graduate social work education programs.

For social work month, we recognize all staff members who are social workers and have worked in the field of social work at some time in their career. You are a valuable addition to the community and the Partners’ team, and we are proud of the work everyone has done to make real life improvements in the lives of participants and their families.
Happy National Social Work Month,
June Simmons and the Executive Staff
