In Honor of #WomensHistoryMonth, we are highlighting incredible women at Partners in Care Foundation who are making strides to make a positive difference in their communities. Kristy Malloy is a Community Health Advocate at Partners. Along with her family, Kristy gives back to her community through numerous charity events like volunteering at children’s hospitals and participating in walks for cancer and autism, to help raise awareness and money for each cause.
Kristy noticed that during the COVID19 pandemic, it was nearly impossible for children to find appointments for a scoliosis screening. Because she is the mother of a child with scoliosis, she felt the need to find a solution and help expand access for all children in the community. While volunteering at Shriners Children’s Hospital, she worked with them to bring a free scoliosis clinic into Butte County in 2021 that was able to successfully screen 400-500 children. One of the kids played football with Kristy’s daughter, and the free clinic was able to provide him with the surgery needed for his scoliosis.
Currently, Kristy is working on revamping the transportation system in Butte County after the Camp Fire. She is on the board of transportation and was able to get an optimization review done to bring on other transportation options like non-emergency medical transport and transport to out of county appointments.
Partners in Care Foundation is proud to have Kristy a member of our staff. She is great female representation of what it means to be a true community leader. We look forward to seeing her grow professionally within the agency and her continued impact in the community.
